ST introduced a new high-precision optical distance (range-finding) module. The new product is based on the amount of time of flight measurement FlightSense ™ technology (Time-of-Flight technology), designers can bring more excellent ranging capabilities.
 
FlightSense ™ technology is the light is reflected by the target object back in time to provide accurate distance measurement data. Conventional sensors can only return intensity of the reflected signals, and can not provide an accurate distance. Compared with conventional infrared sensors, STMicroelectronics FlightSense ™ technology more unique advantages, including measuring the distance farther (reflectance target object distance and not directly related), high frame rate (frame rate), and low power consumption.
